Recent online rumors involving actor Wu Lei have drawn public attention, but available information indicates that the claims lack factual basis. Wu Lei has publicly stated that he does not know the individual who initiated the posts and has no personal connection or interaction with them.

On the evening of January 18, a Weibo user identified as “白珊珊a” posted a series of controversial messages. The posts initially used vague language referencing the alleged sale of “private photos,” before directly naming Wu Lei in subsequent content. These posts quickly gained traction and became trending topics, prompting widespread discussion.

On January 19, Wu Lei responded via his official Weibo account, stating that he does not know the poster and has entrusted legal counsel to pursue the matter in accordance with the law. His studio later shared the statement, reiterating that Wu Lei is completely unfamiliar with the individual in question and has had no form of contact, while emphasizing a firm stance against the spread of false information.

According to an earlier statement released by Wu Lei Studio on January 18, the allegations circulating online were described as malicious fabrications. The studio confirmed that evidence related to the false claims has been preserved and that legal action will be taken to hold those responsible accountable. The statement also urged individuals, media outlets, and platforms involved in disseminating the misinformation to remove all false content immediately and cease further distribution.

Observers have noted that Wu Lei’s decision to pursue the case on the grounds of defamation, rather than a general reputation dispute, suggests a high level of confidence in the factual clarity of the situation. As the matter proceeds through legal channels, further updates are expected to come from official and authoritative sources.
