The upcoming romance drama 《突然的喜欢》- Sudden Crush has officially been scheduled to premiere on January 22. The series stars Chen Xingxu and Wang Yuwen in leading roles, with Ma Sichao and Zeng Mengxue appearing as special cast members, alongside Yu Xiang and Ding Ran.
Chen Xingxu plays Gao Haiming, a sharp-minded business figure from 1998. At first glance, Gao Haiming fits the image of a distant and intimidating corporate elite, but beneath the surface, he is quick-witted and known for turning situations around in unexpected ways. His character is described as a classic “cold on the outside, calculating on the inside” type, adding layers to both his professional and emotional arcs.
Wang Yuwen portrays Lin Huan’er, an emotional advice streamer from the year 2025. Fluent in relationship theories and dating strategies, she confidently guides her followers on matters of love during livestreams. Ironically, despite her expertise in theory, Lin Huan’er has little real-life romantic experience, creating a clear contrast between her public persona and private reality.
Supporting roles further enrich the story. Ma Sichao plays Hu Tiehan, Gao Haiming’s longtime friend, whose old-school romantic outlook offers a different emotional perspective. Zeng Mengxue appears as Zhu Mengmeng, Lin Huan’er’s close friend—level-headed, observant, and delightfully nosy—adding both balance and humor to the narrative.
With its blend of time-crossing elements and character-driven contrasts, Sudden Crush aims to bring a fresh and playful tone to the urban romance genre as it prepares to meet audiences later this month.
