Netflix has announced that its upcoming series “Jigoku ni Ochiru wa yo,” starring Toda Erika, will premiere on April 19. Alongside the release date, the platform unveiled a new trailer and confirmed 19 supporting cast members, including Ito Sairi, Ikuta Toma, and Okuno Eita.

Set against the backdrop of Japan from the Showa to the Heisei era, the series spans more than 60 years and traces the turbulent life of Hosoki Kazuko, portrayed by Toda Erika, from age 17 to 66. The drama presents a grounded yet intense personal tragedy, depicting relentless ambition and fierce struggle through decades of social change.

In order to escape poverty amid the ruins of postwar Japan, Hosoki Kazuko drops out of high school and begins working in the nightlife district. By her early twenties, she successfully opens multiple nightclubs and earns the nickname “Queen of Ginza.” Later, she rises to prominence as a fortune teller known for her unique Rokusei astrology, delivering ominous predictions such as “You will die” and “You will fall into hell.” Her influence grows rapidly, but so do dark rumors surrounding her alleged manipulation of others, involvement in spiritual transactions, and possible ties to the underworld.

The newly revealed supporting cast also includes Tamura Kentaro, Nakajima Ayumu, Hosokawa Gaku, Takahashi Kazuya, Sugimoto Tetta, Ishibashi Renji, Shimakura Chiyoko, Miura Toko, Tomita Yasuko, Yo Kimiko, Nakamura Yuko, and Ichikawa Miwako. With performers spanning multiple generations, the series aims to portray the complex intersections of fate, desire, and power across time.
