The crime thriller drama “Tagusari Brothers,” starring Okada Masaki with Sometani Shota playing a pivotal role, has revealed its central premise. The series follows two brothers who choose careers in law enforcement, weaving suspense and psychological tension around questions of justice that extend beyond the limits of the legal system.

The story centers on the Tagusari brothers, whose parents were murdered just two days apart. Although Japan abolished statutes of limitations for murder and other serious crimes on April 27, 2010, the perpetrators in this case were never brought to justice at the time. Haunted by the past, the brothers decide to become part of the system in order to pursue criminals who have escaped legal punishment.
The elder brother, Tagusari Makoto (played by Okada Masaki), works as a police investigator on the front lines of criminal cases. His younger brother, Tagusari Minoru (played by Sometani Shota), is a forensic pathologist who uncovers hidden truths through autopsies and scientific analysis. Operating from different positions, the brothers combine their strengths as they confront unresolved crimes, moral dilemmas, and the weight of personal loss.
“Tagusari Brothers” is scheduled to air on TBS starting in April, broadcast every Friday at 10:00 p.m.
