The Japanese film Kimi ga Saigo ni Nokoshita Uta has unveiled new still images and a short promotional clip depicting a movie-theater date between its two leads, alongside the announcement of a collaboration with TOHO Cinemas Oimachi in Tokyo. The newly released visuals capture quiet, intimate moments between the characters, highlighting the understated emotional tone that defines the film.

Based on the novel of the same name by Ichijo Misaki, the film stars Michieda Shunsuke of Naniwa Danshi as the male lead, with Nukumi Meru portraying the female protagonist. Direction is handled by Takahiro Miki, known for works such as Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (Konya, Sekai kara Kono Koi ga Kiete mo), Sensei! …Would It Be Okay to Love You? (Sensei! …Suki ni Natte mo Ii Desuka?), and My Eyes Are Asking You (Kimi no Me ga Toikakete iru).

The story traces a ten-year romance between Mizushima Haruto, a reserved young man who secretly writes poetry, and Tosaka Ayane, a girl who struggles with reading and writing due to dyslexia but possesses remarkable talent in singing and songwriting. Living with his grandparents, Haruto tries to avoid standing out, until he discovers that Ayane, a classmate, is also writing poetry. Their chance connection leads them to begin creating music together, quietly transforming Haruto’s previously uneventful days.

The supporting cast includes Masato Hagiwara, NIRA (Shonan no Kaze), Yoshiko Miyazaki, Takeo Gozu, Takehara Pistol, Sora Inoue, Momoko Tanabe, Toru Nomaguchi, and Koki Okada, adding depth and realism to the film’s emotional landscape.

Kimi ga Saigo ni Nokoshita Uta is scheduled to open in theaters on March 20. As its release approaches, the film continues to draw attention for its gentle portrayal of creativity, youth, and the passage of time through music and love.
