The feature film Magical Secret Tour stars Arimura Kasumi in the lead role, with Kuroki Haru and Minami Sara playing pivotal characters. Inspired by a real-life gold smuggling incident that occurred in 2017 at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Aichi Prefecture, the film reimagines the case through a fictional narrative centered on women pushed to the edge by financial hardship.

The story follows three women whose lives intersect under unexpected circumstances. Wakako is a mother of two whose world collapses after discovering her husband’s embezzlement and subsequent dismissal. Kiyoe, a researcher by profession, is burdened with an overwhelming university tuition debt of six million yen. Mau, unmarried and pregnant, struggles to survive while facing an uncertain future with limited means.
Their chance meeting in Singapore becomes a turning point. Driven by desperation, the three women enter the world of gold smuggling, believing it to be a temporary escape from poverty and a chance to rebuild their lives. Bound by shared secrets, they form a fragile alliance sustained by necessity rather than trust. For a brief period, the money offers relief and the illusion of control, a phase they come to describe as their “six magical months.”
As time passes, however, cracks begin to form. Fear, moral conflict, and unspoken doubts slowly unravel their bond, revealing the emotional cost behind their decisions. Rather than sensationalizing crime, Magical Secret Tour focuses on the psychological tension between survival and conscience, portraying how easily hope can erode under sustained pressure.
The film also features performances by Aoki Yuzu, Shiono Akihisa, and Saito Takumi, contributing to a restrained and human-centered portrayal of women navigating choices with no clear right answer.
