The television drama Be Alive (生命树) is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2026, with its television broadcast officially launching on January 30 on CCTV-8 during the primetime slot. Starring Yang Zi and Hu Ge, alongside Mei Ting, Yuan Hong, Yang Shuo, Zhou You, Jinba and other accomplished actors, the series brings together a multi-generational cast to portray a story grounded in realism and emotional depth.

Set in the 1990s on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the story centers on Mazhi County, a region once heavily dependent on agriculture and animal husbandry and long troubled by poverty. Nearby lies the uninhabited area of Bolamula, rich in mineral resources and wildlife, which becomes a hotspot for illegal mining and poaching. With the backing of County Chief Lin Peisheng, Deputy County Chief Duojie forms a mountain patrol team, initially aimed at resource exploration for economic relief. However, after witnessing the brutal slaughter of Tibetan antelopes, Duojie redirects his life’s mission toward environmental protection.

A pivotal figure within the patrol team is Bai Ju, a young police officer and the adopted orphan of a medical aid worker sent to support Tibet. Through firsthand experience in the uninhabited zones, she matures rapidly, forging deep bonds with her teammates and developing a relationship with journalist Shao Yunfei. Together, they work toward establishing a nature reserve, only to face a devastating turning point when Duojie mysteriously disappears and the patrol team is dissolved just before success.
More than a decade later, Bolamula appears peaceful once again, yet illegal coal mining brings the conflict between development and conservation back into sharp focus. Bai Ju reunites with former lovers, friends, and family members, continuing both the pursuit of environmental protection and the search for the truth behind Duojie’s disappearance. The narrative ultimately seeks to restore honor to a fallen hero while reaffirming the long-term commitment to safeguarding the plateau’s fragile ecosystem.

In terms of broadcast schedule, Be Alive (生命树) will air on CCTV-8 starting January 30 at 7:30 p.m., debuting with two episodes and continuing with two episodes nightly, with the finale expected on February 28.
