The television drama Uchubito no Happiness-ron (tentative English title) stars all seven members of the Japanese group Genin wa Jibun ni Aru. and is scheduled to air on Nihon Eiga Senmon Channel starting Wednesday, March 25. The series will be broadcast over three consecutive nights, each episode airing at 8:00 PM.
The cast includes Okura Takato, Muto Jun, Kosaku Koizumi, Yoshizawa Kaname, Nagano Ryota, Mokudai Kazuto, and Sakuragi Masaya. In the drama, they portray seven extraterrestrials who descend to Earth and, for reasons connected to a mysterious “princess,” become apprentices to a pastry chef.
As they learn the craft of making sweets, the seven characters begin to experience human emotions and everyday life, gradually discovering what happiness means in a human context. The story blends elements of mystery with a gentle, emotionally grounded narrative, using confectionery-making as a metaphor for connection and self-discovery.
Rather than focusing on dramatic conflict, Uchubito no Happiness-ron adopts a light fantasy framework to explore themes of happiness, empathy, and interpersonal bonds, offering a distinctive tone compared to conventional youth-oriented dramas
