Michieda Shunsuke, a member of Naniwa Danshi, has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki. Actress Anzai Seira will take on the role of the female protagonist.

The film is based on the manga of the same name by Yamamori Mika, which has also been published in Vietnam under the title “Trăng Chiều Rực Rỡ.” Known for its delicate exploration of youth and identity, the original work has attracted a strong readership, raising expectations for its cinematic adaptation.
The story follows two high school students who are both referred to as “princes” by their peers. Ichimura Kohaku, portrayed by Michieda, is a wealthy and handsome student admired for his refined image. Takiguchi Yoi, played by Anzai, is given the same nickname due to her androgynous beauty and cool, composed demeanor.
Despite their seemingly flawless appearances, both characters struggle with the gap between their authentic selves and the expectations imposed upon them. As their interactions increase, Kohaku and Yoi gradually form a deeper bond, learning to see beyond the labels placed on them. Through this process, they experience the unfamiliar yet transformative emotions of first love.
“Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki” is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release in Japan this autumn.
