The upcoming MBC drama Perfect Crown has officially set its premiere date, raising anticipation among viewers eager to see the on-screen pairing of IU and Byeon Woo Seok.
On March 6, the production team confirmed that the first episode of Perfect Crown will air on April 10. The announcement marks the beginning of promotion for one of MBC’s notable romantic drama projects of the season.

Perfect Crown unfolds in an alternate universe where modern-day Korea operates as a constitutional monarchy. Within this fictional setting, the story centers on Sung Hee Joo, played by IU, a wealthy chaebol heiress who appears to possess everything yet remains a commoner in status within the royal system. Despite her privileged upbringing, Sung Hee Joo finds herself standing outside the rigid hierarchy that defines the monarchy.
Opposite her is Grand Prince Yi An, portrayed by Byeon Woo Seok. Although he is the son of the king, Yi An is depicted as a prince who seemingly has nothing of his own. Bound by expectations and palace constraints, the character navigates the tension between duty and personal freedom.

Through the encounter between Sung Hee Joo and Grand Prince Yi An, Perfect Crown explores a romance that develops across social boundaries within a royal framework. The drama blends modern sensibilities with a reimagined monarchical setting, creating a narrative that reflects both contemporary relationships and the timeless themes of status, identity, and love.
With IU and Byeon Woo Seok leading the story, Perfect Crown is expected to draw attention for its unique premise as well as the chemistry between the two stars when it premieres this April.
