A new Republican-era mystery drama, Chang Feng Qi (长风起), starring Li Xian and Li Yitong, has begun drawing attention among drama watchers. The series features a strong supporting cast including Wu Gang, Liu Guanlin, Guo Jinglin, Hai Yitian, Liang Tian, Xue Jianing, and Luo Haiqiong, adding further anticipation for the upcoming production.

Set in the Republican era, the story follows Shangguan Chengming, a wealthy young man from Jiangsu and Zhejiang whose entire family is killed after being trapped in a scheme orchestrated by the mysterious Tianxiang Sect. Determined to uncover the truth, he goes into hiding under a false identity and becomes the disciple of Jin Buhuan, a fortune-teller whose legs were crippled years earlier.

While learning the art of fortune-telling, Shangguan Chengming secretly investigates the forces behind the tragedy and gradually uncovers the existence of the Jiangxiang Sect, an organization that uses face-reading and fortune-telling as a cover to target victims and carry out elaborate fraud schemes.

During his investigation, he teams up with Jiang Feiyan, a woman determined to change her own fate despite being trapped in difficult circumstances. Together, they unravel a series of elaborate deceptions — including mystical scams such as the so-called “Immortal Child Descending to Earth” — eventually exposing the dark network behind the Tianxiang Sect.

In the drama, Li Xian plays Shangguan Chengming, while Li Yitong portrays Jiang Feiyan, a key figure in the story. Their on-screen partnership has already become a point of interest for many viewers.

Chang Feng Qi (长风起) is expected to premiere in 2026 on iQIYI and Tencent Video, though the exact release date has yet to be officially announced.
