The period drama Hello 1983 officially premieres on March 17, 2026, offering a blend of time travel, entrepreneurship, and emotional growth. Led by Zhou Ye and Zhai Xiaowen, alongside a supporting cast including Dong Xuan, Wang Guanyi, Zhao Da, and Gui Yalei, the series situates personal transformation within the broader context of an evolving era.

At the center of the story is Xia Xiaolan, played by Zhou Ye, a modern corporate executive who finds herself trapped in a corporate crisis where she is forced to take the blame for a financial collapse. At her lowest point, she unexpectedly travels back in time, awakening as her 18-year-old self in 1983—a rural girl with no resources, no status, but youth and determination on her side.

Stripped of modern advantages, Xia Xiaolan begins again from the ground up. Armed with a sharp mind and resilience, she pursues education as her primary path forward, firmly believing that knowledge can change one’s destiny. Through persistence, she overcomes numerous obstacles to gain admission to her desired university, marking a key turning point in her journey.

Parallel to her academic ambitions, she ventures into business. Starting with small, low-cost trades such as selling duck eggs and homemade snacks, she gradually expands into clothing resale and eventually real estate. Her trajectory reflects both personal ambition and the opportunities emerging within a changing economic landscape.

Beyond her professional pursuits, the drama also explores relationships that shape her growth. Xia Xiaolan encounters love that is both sweet and complex, while also being supported by family, mentors, and friends. Unlike her previous life, she chooses to actively embrace her fate, transforming from a passive individual into someone who takes control of her future.

Hello 1983 frames this rebirth not merely as a second chance, but as a process of self-reconstruction. Through shifting times and personal trials, the series underscores a central idea: that determination and courage remain the most powerful tools for navigating life, regardless of the era.

Release Schedule

For subscribers, the drama begins on March 17 at 18:00 with six episodes released initially.
