On March 19, the cast of Hello 1983 gathered in Beijing for a special promotional event, drawing attention to the ongoing broadcast of the period drama. Leading actors Zhou Ye, Zhai Xiaowen, Dong Xuan, and Wang Guanyi attended the event, engaging with audiences and sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the project.
At the event, Zhou Ye appeared in a blue-toned dress layered with a plaid vest, presenting a playful retro-inspired look, while Zhai Xiaowen opted for a black leather jacket paired with a white shirt, creating a clean and sharp visual contrast.
During the interactive segment, Zhai Xiaowen playfully coached Zhou Ye, who jokingly described herself as “tone-deaf,” and the two performed a duet of “Qing Shen Shen Yu Meng Meng” on stage. Their lighthearted performance and natural chemistry were met with enthusiastic reactions from the audience. When asked about her character Xia Xiaolan, Zhou Ye shared that what resonated most with her was the character’s resilience and courage. She described Xia Xiaolan as someone who keeps moving forward despite difficulties and has the bravery to make important decisions.
Meanwhile, Zhai Xiaowen revealed during the conversation that Dong Xuan’s daughter had nearly appeared in the drama. Dong Xuan added with a smile that she hopes her daughter will grow up to resemble Zhou Ye, a remark that brought laughter and warmth to the event.
