Zhao Lusi’s Health Concerns

Chinese actress Zhao Lusi has recently made headlines due to concerns regarding her health. Following a series of concerning clips where she appeared weak and unsteady while being wheeled into a hospital last December, Lusi finally addressed her struggles with mental health on New Year’s Day. In an exclusive interview with Global Times, she revealed that she has been battling depression since 2019.

The Struggles with Depression

During her interview, Lusi admitted that she had been experiencing symptoms of depression for several years but chose to ignore them. Driven by the fear of disappointing her family, friends, and fans, she relied on sleeping pills and avoided taking breaks, worried that it might reflect poorly on her work ethic. Unfortunately, this led her to suppress her feelings until they took a serious toll on her mental and physical health, resulting in neurological damage.

Steps to Recovery

Fortunately, there is good news as Lusi reported significant improvements in her condition after a period of treatment. She shared that her symptoms have mostly disappeared, allowing her to live a more normal life. However, she emphasized that the journey to full recovery will require an additional three to four months of treatment. Beyond medication, she has adopted various hobbies, such as painting and playing the piano, which have helped alleviate her stress and anxiety.

In an announcement made via social media, Zhao Lusi expressed her excitement to return to work, revealing that she will make her first public appearance on January 25th. She aims to show her fans how their unwavering support has been a source of strength during her darkest times. As she resumes her professional obligations, many fans have flooded her messages with words of encouragement and care.
