In the past two years, Wang Kai has noticeably slowed his pace. Instead of appearing frequently on screen, he has devoted more time to nurturing his health and finding balance in life. In his spare time, he actively participates in public welfare work, from art volunteer services to cultural promotion. As Vice President of the Hubei Provincial Art Volunteers Association, he not only focuses on creation but also on bringing warmth and strength to others.
Beyond charity and daily exercise, Wang Kai also recharges himself through sports. This year, he completed the 15th Changdao Marathon, embodying health and perseverance through running. This lifestyle has made him more composed and at ease.
On the work front, his new national security–themed drama Jiao Feng (《交锋》) has finished filming. Set between the late 1990s and the 2010s, it tells the story of Chun Xiao’s journey from a rookie to a mature, steadfast figure. Directed by Yao Xiaofeng and written by Wang Xiaoqiang, the drama is co-produced by Ning Meng Film, CCTV, Tencent, and iQIYI, and is expected to air in 2026. Apart from Jiao Feng, Wang Kai has not taken on new roles in the past two years, leaving more time for himself and his personal life.
