SBS’s upcoming romantic comedy Would You Marry Me has dropped a fresh set of character posters, giving viewers a first glimpse into the colorful love dynamics and playful tension that will unfold when fake vows lead to very real feelings.

Would You Marry Me tells the quirky yet heartfelt story of a man and a woman who agree to a high-stakes 90-day contract marriage in hopes of winning a luxurious newlywed home. Choi Woo Shik stars as Kim Woo Joo, heir to Korea’s oldest bakery, while Jung So Min plays Yoo Mary, a small business owner with a bold plan—and a surprising proposal.

In his poster, Kim Woo Joo (Choi Woo Shik) rests his chin on his hand, donning an indifferent expression as the caption reads, “A fake husband..? Why would I?” The line suggests skepticism and sarcasm, teasing his resistance to the idea—at least at first.

Meanwhile, Yoo Mary’s poster contrasts sharply. She’s seen holding out a bouquet toward Woo Joo with the straightforward line: “Will you be my husband?” As a struggling designer, Mary’s proposal is not born out of romance but strategy—though fate may have other plans. Her expression is both sweet and confident, hinting at the charming tension that will define their dynamic.

Their opposite energies—Woo Joo’s cool demeanor and Mary’s endearing boldness—set the stage for a classic rom-com setup: two unlikely partners navigating love under the pretense of a fake marriage.

The supporting cast adds even more intrigue.

Baek Sang Hyun (Bae Na Ra) appears with a piercing stare, embodying a character who doesn’t buy the couple’s newlywed act. The caption implies his role as the sharp-eyed observer who senses something off—and may be digging deeper.

Yoon Jin Kyung (Shin Seul Ki) offers a more tender presence. Her tagline, “Somehow, you’ve become a man to me,” suggests an emotional shift as she unexpectedly falls for Woo Joo. Her gaze, filled with affection, adds a layer of quiet yearning to the mix.

And finally, Seo Bum June’s version of Kim Woo Joo—Mary’s cheeky ex-fiancé—adds spice to the drama. With a playful grin, he offers flowers to Mary alongside the possessive and telling line: “Both Mary and the house are mine!” His return throws yet another wrench into the already-complicated web of love and lies.

With layered characters, comedic misunderstandings, and a unique premise rooted in a contract romance, Would You Marry Me looks set to deliver a mix of laughter, rivalry, and slow-burning affection.

The drama premieres on October 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS. Stay tuned for what promises to be a charming blend of fake love and real emotions.
