Adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name, Dear X follows Baek Ah Jin (played by Kim You Jung), an A-list actress who ascends from the bottom to the top of the entertainment world by manipulating those around her. Behind her dazzling smile lies a cold, calculating nature—one that leaves behind a trail of people scarred by her ambition and deceit.

Amid this web of ambition and betrayal stands Yoon Joon Seo (Kim Young Dae), a man whose love for Baek Ah Jin consumes him entirely. His devotion borders on destruction, as he willingly walks into darkness if it means protecting the woman he adores.

In the newly released stills, Yoon Joon Seo’s gaze never wavers—every look, every gesture is centered around Baek Ah Jin. From their school days to adulthood, she remains both his solace and his undoing. His eyes, heavy with tenderness and melancholy, reflect a lifetime of shared loneliness and unspoken yearning, hinting at a bond as beautiful as it is doomed.

Speaking about the role, Kim Young Dae revealed,

“I was completely drawn in from the moment I read the script. The character of Yoon Joon Seo had such depth and emotional weight that I immediately wanted to portray him.”

He continued,

“Yoon Joon Seo is a man who dedicates everything to Baek Ah Jin, supporting her with unwavering devotion. But as conflicts arise and reality begins to crumble, his love becomes both his salvation and his downfall. I tried to focus on expressing the delicate shifts in his emotions and the pain of his inner collapse.”

With its blend of obsession, heartbreak, and moral decay, Dear X promises to explore love at its most consuming and destructive. The series is set to premiere on November 6, and anticipation is already high for Kim Young Dae’s haunting portrayal of a man undone by love.
