In a delightful announcement on November 13, CJ ENM revealed that renowned Korean actor Ji Chang Wook will join forces with rising Japanese star Imada Mio to star in the new romance drama titled “Merry Berry Love” (working title). This exciting collaboration marks a significant venture in the entertainment industry, being co-produced by CJ ENM and Japan’s Nippon TV.

The Storyline Unveiled
Set on a mysterious Japanese island, “Merry Berry Love” presents a captivating story revolving around Korean space planner Lee Yoo Bin, played by Ji Chang Wook, whose career faces adversity. Alongside him, Imada Mio takes on the role of Shirahama Karin, a dedicated strawberry farmer. This unique premise undoubtedly hints at a forthcoming blend of romance and personal growth, appealing to a wide audience.
A Promising Production Team
The drama is under the baton of director Kim Soo Jung, acclaimed for his work on the hit BL series “Semantic Error,” while the script is crafted by writer Lee Jae Yoon, known for “The Divorce Insurance.” Lee Sang Hwa, chief producer of CJ ENM’s global content production team, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Nippon TV and Disney, stating, “We plan to present a project that transcends countries and languages so global audiences can feel the excitement and have fun.”
