SixTONES member Kyomoto Taiga has been confirmed as the lead in the new drama series Akogare no Sakka wa Ningen Ja Arimasen deshita, based on the novel by Sawamura Mikage. The series blends fantasy, mystery, and human drama, and will be released exclusively on Prime Video starting May 4.

Kyomoto plays Misaki Zen, a once-renowned novelist known for producing bestselling works, who has abandoned his humanity to become a vampire. Having lost his passion for writing, Misaki lives in emotional isolation until encounters with a rookie editor and a young police officer gradually awaken long-forgotten human feelings such as love and friendship.
Equipped with supernatural abilities, Misaki can read memories through a person’s blood, interpret thoughts, and use hypnosis. Coupled with sharp deductive skills and psychological analysis, he assists the police in solving cases that have otherwise reached a dead end. As he navigates the boundary between being human and non-human, the series explores questions of identity, emotion, and redemption.
With its unconventional premise and introspective tone, Akogare no Sakka wa Ningen Ja Arimasen deshita offers Kyomoto Taiga a multifaceted role, marking a notable addition to his acting career and drawing attention from viewers eager to see a fresh take on the vampire genre.
