On January 9, BELIFT LAB, the agency representing ILLIT, released an official statement on Weverse addressing recent incidents involving serious invasions of the group’s privacy and threats to the members’ safety. The agency made it clear that it will pursue strong legal action with a zero-tolerance policy.

According to the statement, following ILLIT’s official overseas activities, several members experienced severe privacy violations while attending to personal schedules prior to returning to Korea. After detecting signs that the artists’ return information had been leaked, the agency immediately changed the departure airport and flight time in an effort to ensure their safety. Despite these measures, multiple individuals had already obtained the updated ticket details and followed the artists to the new airport.

BELIFT LAB explained that these individuals attempted to approach the members, initiate conversations, criticized them for wearing masks, and demanded photographs without consent—actions that posed a direct threat to the artists. The agency stressed the gravity of the situation, particularly because the revised flight information was confidential and known only to the artists themselves and a very limited number of staff, yet was leaked in real time.

The agency reiterated that it has repeatedly warned against the unlawful acquisition of personal information and appearances at non-public schedules, noting that such acts constitute serious violations. With incidents now escalating to real-time tracking of personal schedules, on-site pursuit, attempted contact, and intimidation, BELIFT LAB stated that the situation has crossed a line that can no longer be tolerated.

As a result, the company has requested active cooperation from the relevant airline to verify access histories and log records. It is also continuously collecting evidence against individuals engaging in stalking and threatening behavior. BELIFT LAB emphasized that it will hold those responsible strictly accountable under the law, without any settlements or leniency.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the agency’s commitment to providing a safe environment in which its artists can focus on their activities. BELIFT LAB also called on fans to actively report any suspicious or illegal behavior and to cooperate in protecting the artists.

Thank you.
