Ahead of its January 16 premiere, the upcoming drama “Can This Love Be Translated?” has unveiled new stills featuring Kim Seon Ho, Go Youn Jung, and Fukushi Sota, highlighting the series’ romance set across multiple countries.

“Can This Love Be Translated?” follows the story of multilingual interpreter Joo Ho Jin (Kim Seon Ho) and top star Cha Mu Hee (Go Youn Jung), whose professional relationship gradually evolves into an unexpected and heartfelt romance shaped by language, culture, and circumstance.

Japan marks the first meeting point for Ho Jin and Mu Hee. In the newly released stills, the two stand on opposite sides of a train track, visually reflecting the emotional distance between them at the start of their relationship. Director Yoo Young Eun emphasized subtle tension and anticipation through careful framing and the actors’ exchanged gazes. Go Youn Jung shared that as the cast grew closer during filming, the sense of heart-fluttering excitement naturally carried over into their performances.

As the story moves to Canada, the characters’ emotions deepen against backdrops of sunsets, auroras, and serene lakes. Kim Seon Ho explained that this portion of the drama represents a turning point where Ho Jin and Mu Hee grow significantly closer, both within the story and during the filming process. Go Youn Jung added that the relaxed atmosphere allowed their acting to become more layered and emotionally rich.

In Italy, the production aimed to convey a quieter, more intimate form of romance. Warm lighting, gentle snowfall, and winter landscapes in Europe helped create a calm and comforting mood. Kim Seon Ho described the filming experience as joyful, noting the strong synergy between the director and his co-star.

Director Yoo Young Eun also commented on the drama’s Korean locations, explaining that she intentionally chose everyday yet visually appealing settings rather than grand landmarks. She expressed hope that viewers would enjoy recognizing familiar corners of Seoul through the characters’ daily lives.

Spanning multiple countries and emotional stages, “Can This Love Be Translated?” presents a romance that unfolds beyond borders, exploring how connection can grow and endure across languages and cultures.
