On February 3, actress Ma Sichun shared a post on her personal social media account expressing support for Life Tree, the new drama starring Yang Zi and Hu Ge. In her message, Ma revealed that she had previously heard Yang Zi talk about how challenging and demanding the production was, and said that after seeing the visuals from the drama, she fully understood why both Yang Zi and Hu Ge felt the effort was worthwhile. She concluded her post by saying she was proud of them and cheering them on.

Yang Zi later responded to the post with a simple message of gratitude, thanking Ma Sichun, which quickly drew attention from fans and netizens. The interaction sparked discussion about the friendship among the three actors, as well as curiosity surrounding the demanding filming process of Life Tree.

According to publicly available information, Life Tree is inspired by real-life anti-poaching cases on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The production team reportedly filmed on location in the Hoh Xil region at an altitude of around 4,800 meters for 188 days. In order to authentically portray their roles, Yang Zi appeared without makeup, managed her weight, and emphasized a sun-reddened high-altitude look, while Hu Ge grew a beard, tanned his skin, and trained in the Tibetan language. Both actors endured temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius and completed their scenes without using stand-ins.

Ma Sichun’s remarks about the hardships of filming closely align with the production details that have been disclosed, further heightening public interest in both the behind-the-scenes story and the final presentation of Life Tree.
