South Korean actress Park Shin Hye has once again demonstrated her commitment to philanthropy by making a meaningful donation to help vulnerable families.
On March 13, her agency SALT Entertainment announced that the actress donated 100 million won (approximately 67,000 USD) to support single-parent households. The funds will be distributed through Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI), where Park Shin Hye serves as an ambassador.
The contribution is part of the “Starlight Angel Project,” a charity initiative that the actress has carried out together with her fans, known collectively as Starlight Angel, since 2012. Through this long-running project, Park Shin Hye and her supporters have consistently raised funds and awareness for families and children in need.

According to KFHI, the donation will be used to provide practical assistance to single-parent families experiencing financial and emotional difficulties. The organization plans to allocate the funds to essential living expenses and child-rearing support. These measures aim to ease the heavy responsibilities that many single parents face while trying to balance work and childcare, and to ensure that their children can grow up in a more stable environment.
Through her agency, Park Shin Hye shared the motivation behind her donation. While filming scenes set in dorm room 301 for the drama Undercover Miss Hong, she encountered storylines portraying the struggles of a single-parent family. In particular, the characters Kim Mi Sook and her child Kim Bom left a deep impression on the actress and inspired her desire to offer support to real families facing similar hardships.
The chairman of KFHI, Choi Chang Nam, also expressed appreciation for the actress’s contribution. He noted that single-parent families often bear not only financial pressures but also the full responsibility of caregiving on their own. According to him, Park Shin Hye’s act of generosity will provide meaningful assistance to families in need and help raise greater public awareness about the challenges they face.
Park Shin Hye has been involved in charitable activities with KFHI since 2011. Over the years, she has actively supported humanitarian causes in South Korea and abroad, using her influence to draw attention to marginalized communities. Her latest donation continues a long tradition of social engagement that has become an important part of her public image.
