It’s finally confirmed! Park Hyung Sik and Heo Joon Ho will star in SBS’s upcoming drama, “Treasure Island” (literal translation). Set to air in 2025, this highly anticipated television series promises to deliver an intriguing storyline that will captivate audiences.

 

The Storyline Awaits

“Treasure Island” narrates the fascinating tale of a man who successfully hacks a political slush fund account worth a staggering 2 trillion won (approximately $1.5 billion). However, the plot takes a sudden twist when he is killed by an unsuspecting individual who inadvertently triggers a chain of events that leads to the loss of the entire amount. This thrilling narrative is expected to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, with unexpected twists and high stakes at play.

The Talented Minds Behind the Scenes

This drama is set to be written by the renowned Lee Myung Hee, known for her exceptional work on “Money Flower,” and will be directed by Jin Chang Gyu, who has previously garnered attention for “Military Prosecutor Doberman.” With such credible talents at the helm, “Treasure Island” is already generating excitement in the entertainment industry.

On September 13, SBS officially confirmed the casting of Park Hyung Sik as Seo Dong Joo, the ambitious leader of the Daesan group chairperson’s public affairs team. Meanwhile, Heo Joon Ho will portray the powerful Professor Yum Jang Sun, a character steeped in influence and manipulation. As filming has already commenced, fans are eagerly looking forward to this blend of drama, ambition, and suspense in 2025.
