Son Ye Jin and Jo Yuri have officially been confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix drama “Variety”, a series that is already generating strong anticipation.
“Variety” tells the story of Sae Eun, the CEO of a top entertainment company in South Korea who single-handedly built the nation’s most successful idol group, and Seung Hee, an obsessive fan who will stop at nothing to get close to her idols. The drama dives deep into the hidden desires and conflicts surrounding the glamorous but ruthless entertainment world.
The series will be directed and written by Kim Yong Hoon, acclaimed for his work on the hit Netflix series “Mask Girl” and the award-winning film “Beasts Clawing at Straws.” His distinct storytelling style and sharp insights into human nature are expected to bring a fresh and gripping perspective to “Variety.”
Son Ye Jin, known for her powerful emotional range and ability to fully immerse herself in her roles, will play Sae Eun, a sharp, determined CEO who never hesitates to make tough, cold-blooded decisions to achieve her goals. Sae Eun is willing to risk everything to renew the contract with the idol group she built from the ground up.
Jo Yuri, who left a lasting impression in “Squid Game” Seasons 2 and 3, takes on the role of Seung Hee, an intense and obsessive fan who meticulously tracks every move of her favorite idol.
