Introduction to ‘The Judge from Hell’

‘The Judge from Hell’ is an upcoming fantasy romance drama that promises to deliver a unique viewing experience. Starring Park Shin Hye as Kang Bit Na—a demon who takes on the body of a judge—the series introduces a captivating storyline interwoven with moral dilemmas and mystical elements. The drama is scheduled to premiere on September 21 at 9:50 p.m. KST, and excitement is already building around its narrative and casting choices.

Writer Jo Yi Soo’s Reflections on Casting

Jo Yi Soo, the writer behind ‘The Judge from Hell,’ expressed her enthusiasm about the casting of the leading actors. She recalls the moment she learned of Park Shin Hye’s casting, stating, “As soon as I hung up, I let out a scream of joy.” Jo was grateful that a seasoned actress chose to partner with a rookie writer, further motivating her to craft a compelling script that would live up to Park’s reputation.

The Importance of Character Alignment

When discussing the casting choices, Yi Soo emphasized the significance of selecting actors who align perfectly with their characters. She viewed Kang Bit Na as a multifaceted figure who needed to be played by someone with exceptional talent, someone who could embody both her demon status and inherent kindness. This led her to conclude that Park Shin Hye was the ideal fit. Similarly, she detailed how Kim Jae Young’s embodiment of Han Da On matched her vision, stating, “When I saw Kim Jae Young, his gaze was exactly the Han Da On I’d imagined.” This mutual synergy between the actors and their roles is set to elevate the overall storytelling in the drama.
