Won Ji An recently opened up about her role in the upcoming drama “Surely Tomorrow,” a story that follows the evolving relationship between former lovers Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo. The pair fell in love at 20, reunited at 28, and eventually separated—only to meet again years later under unexpected circumstances. Gyeong Do now works as a journalist covering an affair scandal, while Ji Woo is revealed to be the wife of the man involved.

Won Ji An plays Seo Ji Woo, Gyeong Do’s first love and the second daughter of a prominent apparel family. With natural beauty and a carefree charm, she draws attention wherever she goes. However, beneath her glamorous exterior lies a deeply wounded and unpredictable character. “Seo Ji Woo’s appeal lies in her unpredictability, in her fragility,” the actress said. “You never know what she might do.”
Explaining why she chose the role, Won Ji An noted that the script’s delicate portrayal of how love deepens and shifts over time made a strong impression on her. She felt the project would allow her to grow as an actor and was determined to take on the challenge. She also revealed that she spent considerable time imagining the emotional changes Ji Woo experienced during her time apart from Gyeong Do, using the script as a guide.

Regarding styling, Won Ji An approached each timeline with a specific concept: understated and simple during their first romance, clean and polished during their second, and sophisticated in the present day. She added that during the second relationship era, she often wore Gyeong Do’s clothing to highlight their intimacy.
“Surely Tomorrow” premieres on December 6 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
