The Japanese film Koe yo Hirogare will arrive in theaters in January 2027, with Satoru Soma in the leading role. Centered on themes of growth, empathy, and communication, the film explores friendship and self-acceptance through the lens of language-related challenges. The supporting cast includes Moga Mogami, Genki Iwahashi, Funyao Harada, Mayu Ozawa, Daiki Uyo, and Shugo.

The story follows Maeda Riku, a fifth-grade boy who struggles with a stutter. Shy and withdrawn, Riku finds it difficult to make friends at school. His life begins to change when Tsubaki Yosuke, a transfer student, enters his class. Although Yosuke appears confident, Riku soon learns that he faces his own difficulties due to dyslexia. Through shared vulnerability, the two boys form a quiet but meaningful bond.

Their friendship is cut short when Yosuke transfers to another school, leaving Riku to confront loneliness and uncertainty once again. As the narrative shifts between childhood and adulthood, the film traces how this formative connection continues to shape both characters. Daiki Uyo and Shugo portray Riku and Yosuke in their younger years, while Soma Satoru and Genki Iwahashi take on the roles as adults.

With a restrained and compassionate tone, Koe yo Hirogare sheds light on speech disorders, childhood isolation, and emotional connection, offering a gentle reflection on voices that struggle to be heard—and the courage it takes to let them resonate.
