MBC’s romance drama In Your Radiant Season has unveiled new stills previewing a pivotal emotional development between Lee Sung Kyung and Chae Jong Hyeop. The series follows the love story of Sunwoo Chan, a man who approaches life like an endless summer vacation, and Song Ha Ran, a woman who has emotionally withdrawn as if trapped in a lingering winter.

In the previous episode of In Your Radiant Season, viewers learned that Sunwoo Chan had been exchanging messages with Ha Ran not as himself, but on behalf of her late boyfriend Kang Hyuk Chan, adding complexity to their evolving connection. Witnessing Ha Ran’s continued struggle with grief, Chan resolved to help her rediscover happiness. Before returning to the United States, he proposed a “three-month neighborhood friend trial,” offering companionship without pressure.

Newly released images from the upcoming episode show Ha Ran and Chan embarking on a danchung tour, exploring traditional Korean decorative painting as part of their animation collaboration. In one scene, Ha Ran appears momentarily surprised by Chan’s choice of traditional attire. However, his natural warmth and vibrant energy soon draw attention at the palace setting, reinforcing the contrast between his openness and her restraint.
During the tour, a quiet turning point unfolds. While Chan briefly steps away, Ha Ran wanders alone through the palace grounds and suddenly stops, her expression shifting as she stares into the distance. Her eyes well up with tears, suggesting she has encountered an unexpected emotional trigger. Later, as Chan looks at her with visible concern, Ha Ran finally speaks about the feelings she has long suppressed. In response, Chan reveals that he too once endured a severe emotional winter, allowing both characters to confront their respective wounds.

As In Your Radiant Season approaches its third episode, the question remains whether Ha Ran will continue to distance herself or begin to accept Chan’s presence in her life. The next episode of In Your Radiant Season airs on February 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST, promising further insight into their evolving relationship.
