SEVENTEEN member Dino is officially preparing for his long-awaited solo debut as his alter ego Picheolin.
On May 11, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that Picheolin will release his first mini album titled 吉BOARD on August 3. The announcement immediately drew strong attention from fans, especially since the character has gradually become one of the most recognizable and beloved alter egos within SEVENTEEN’s extended universe of self-created content.

The album title creatively reinterprets the 1990s Korean street culture term “gilboard” by combining the Chinese character “吉,” meaning “good fortune,” with the English word “BOARD.” According to the agency, the concept symbolizes Picheolin’s ambition to transform ordinary streets into energetic stages that everyone can enjoy together.
Picheolin first appeared during SEVENTEEN’s 2021 fan meeting VCR content and quickly became popular among fans because of his exaggerated personality, chaotic energy, and comedic charm. Within the fictional setting, Picheolin is known as the passionate producer and agency head of BOMG, a character universe that Dino has continued expanding through various performances and content appearances over the years.
Because the character already possesses a distinct identity separate from Dino’s usual stage persona, many fans are especially curious about what musical direction the upcoming mini album will take. Online discussions have also focused on whether the release will lean heavily into parody and entertainment elements or evolve into a more fully developed artistic concept blending humor, performance, and street-inspired aesthetics.
The announcement further highlights Dino’s expanding individuality within SEVENTEEN. While he has long been recognized for his strong dance skills and stage presence as the group’s youngest member, this project marks one of his most distinct attempts yet at building a standalone creative identity through character-based storytelling and music.
