Actress Mun Ka Young is reportedly preparing for a new chapter in her career, as discussions surrounding a potential move to Fantagio are currently underway.
On May 13, Korean media outlets reported that Mun Ka Young’s exclusive contract with her current agency PEAK J Entertainment is approaching its expiration date and that the actress has decided not to renew her agreement. According to the report, she has already completed detailed discussions with Fantagio and is now seriously considering signing with the company.
In response to the reports, Fantagio addressed the speculation cautiously, stating, “We are positively considering an exclusive contract with Mun Ka Young, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”
Although no official agreement has been finalized, the possibility alone has already attracted significant attention because Fantagio currently houses several high-profile actors, including Cha Eun Woo, Kim Seon Ho, Lee Sung Kyung, and Lee Se Young. If Mun Ka Young ultimately joins the agency, she would immediately become one of Fantagio’s most prominent actresses.
Mun Ka Young originally signed with PEAK J Entertainment in the summer of 2024, and over the past two years she has remained highly active across both drama and variety projects. During this period, she expanded her acting range through works such as My Dearest Nemesis and Law and The City, while also appearing on the variety program Steal Heart Club.
However, the project that most significantly elevated her recent industry standing was the film Once We Were Us. In the movie, Mun Ka Young took on the female lead role and ultimately won the Best Actress award in the film category at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards — one of Korea’s most prestigious entertainment honors.
That victory became an especially important turning point in public perception of her career. While Mun Ka Young had long been recognized for her visual appeal and romantic drama popularity, the Baeksang win strengthened industry recognition of her as a serious actress capable of carrying more emotionally demanding and critically respected projects.
