A new poster has been released for the upcoming Fuji TV special drama “Debussy ga Hajikeru made”, starring Kunimura Jun with INI’s Ozaki Takumi in a key role. The serene visual has already sparked curiosity about this heartfelt story of two men connected through music.

Kiichiro Watari’s life quietly stopped the moment his beloved wife Sayuri passed away two years ago. Now, he lives alone, managing his family’s small watch shop tucked inside a local shopping street. His days are simple, muted, and tinged with loneliness—until one evening he hears a gentle stream of piano notes drifting from a nearby restaurant. Drawn by the sound, he discovers Sasaki Takumi playing the piano.
Takumi, at 28, once dreamed of becoming a professional pianist but abandoned his path after a painful incident. His talent was shelved, his dream left suspended. But when Kiichiro asks him for piano lessons—specifically to learn Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” Sayuri’s favorite piece—Takumi once again finds himself sitting at the piano, this time to help someone honor a love that transcends death.
Despite their age difference, the two men slowly bond over music and glasses of whisky. Their lessons become conversations, and their conversations turn into companionship. Meanwhile, Kiichiro begins receiving letters from Sayuri—messages that feel as though they are sent from somewhere beyond, reminding him that love never truly vanishes.
“Debussy ga Hajikeru made” is a gentle, introspective drama about grief, redemption, and the quiet courage it takes to start again. While we cannot rewind time, music and human connection can reignite a sense of warmth—offering solace and guiding us forward.
The drama premieres on December 24 at 22:00 on Fuji TV, a perfectly tender story to accompany a quiet Christmas Eve.
