The upcoming Japanese drama Reboot, starring Suzuki Ryohei, has officially unveiled its main poster and confirmed its premiere date as January 18. The series will air in TBS’s prestigious “Sunday Theater” time slot, broadcasting every Sunday at 9:00 p.m., with the first episode running 25 minutes longer than usual—highlighting the network’s strong confidence in the project. Toda Erika will play a key role alongside Suzuki, forming one of the drama’s central dramatic axes.

Reboot is a tense and suspense-driven story centered on Hayase Riku, an ordinary pastry chef whose life is turned upside down. Two and a half years after his wife Natsumi went missing, her body is suddenly discovered, and Riku is arrested based on incriminating evidence he insists he never committed. With the justice system closing in on him, he is forced to “reboot” himself, transforming from an everyday citizen into a man determined to uncover the truth.

The investigation is led by Gido Ayumi, a senior detective who appears authoritative on the surface but is secretly entangled in corruption and bribery connected to the criminal underworld. Realizing that official channels offer no protection, Riku chooses to confront Gido directly, setting off a dangerous pursuit of the real culprit. As the story unfolds, the drama explores themes of institutional decay, moral compromise, and the resilience required to reclaim one’s identity.

In addition to Suzuki Ryohei and Toda Erika, the cast includes Kuroki Meisa, Ito Hideaki, Makita Aju, Kitamura Yukiya, Harada Mieko, Yazaki Kou, Sakou Yoshi, Tsukaji Muga, Tsuda Atsuhiro, Nakagawa Daisuke, Ikeda Tetsuhiro, and Fujita Haru. With its high-caliber ensemble and psychologically charged narrative, Reboot is poised to be one of TBS’s most closely watched Sunday Theater dramas of the season.
