The announcement of the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala hosts has drawn attention to Liu Xinyue, whose inclusion quickly sparked public discussion. While she may be unfamiliar to some national audiences, her steady rise through years of regional broadcasting has placed her in the spotlight.

Born in 1987, Liu Xinyue initially studied Chinese language and literature at Zhejiang Normal University before transferring to the Communication University of Zhejiang to pursue broadcasting and hosting. Lacking a traditional broadcasting background at first, she focused on intensive training to strengthen her vocal technique, on-air expression, and stage presence.

After graduation, Liu began her career at Zhejiang Radio and Television Group, working primarily in radio broadcasting. In 2012, she joined Liaoning Television through a talent recruitment program, where she adapted her hosting style to better suit news, variety, and public-interest programming. Her work on shows such as Speak to the World helped her gain recognition among regional audiences.
Starting in 2019, Liu served as a regular host of the Liaoning TV Spring Festival Gala, a role that demanded strong live-broadcast control and adaptability. Her consistent performances further established her professional credibility.

In 2023, Liu competed in the China Media Group Host Competition, where she won the Silver Award. The competition marked a turning point in her career and led to opportunities within CCTV. She went on to host the Liaoning Shenyang sub-venue of the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, followed by appearances on several CCTV programs and the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival Gala.

Her selection as a main host for the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala represents a significant milestone, reflecting her long-term accumulation of experience and her transition from regional television to China’s most prominent national stage.
