Makiyo has addressed questions surrounding her absence from the unveiling ceremony of a statue commemorating Barbie Hsu last month, after some observers speculated about possible changes in their friendship. Responding to the concerns, Makiyo clarified the circumstances that prevented her from attending the event.
According to Makiyo, she had been contacted by Dee Hsu and was invited to film a commemorative video. However, she explained that she was under the impression the unveiling ceremony was intended to be a private gathering limited to family members. In addition, she revealed that she suddenly suffered an epileptic seizure at home on the day of the event, which ultimately made it impossible for her to be present.
Addressing speculation about her relationship with the Hsu family, Makiyo acknowledged that she and Barbie Hsu had not been in touch for a period of time, but emphasized that their relationship had not deteriorated. She stated that she plans to personally visit Chin Pao San to pay her respects to Barbie Hsu when the time is appropriate. Through her response, Makiyo sought to clarify misunderstandings and reaffirm that her absence was due to unforeseen circumstances rather than any change in sentiment.
