Actress Lee Joo Bin recently shared her thoughts on starring in the upcoming romantic comedy drama “Spring Fever” and discussed her approach to portraying her character.

“Spring Fever” tells a healing love story between Yoon Bom (Lee Joo Bin), an emotionally guarded high school teacher, and Seon Jae Gyu (Ahn Bo Hyun), a warm and passionate man who gradually melts her emotional barriers.

Lee Joo Bin portrays Yoon Bom, a teacher who carries an air of mystery and draws quiet curiosity from those around her. Once a woman who enjoyed admiration and affection in Seoul thanks to her natural charm, Yoon Bom emotionally withdraws after a life-altering incident and relocates to a small seaside town to work at a rural high school.

Lee Joo Bin explained that upon first reading the script, she felt confident she could portray Yoon Bom in an engaging and nuanced way, which made her eager to accept the role. The seaside filming location also contributed to her excitement, as it felt like traveling while working.

Describing her character, she noted that Yoon Bom appears calm on the surface but harbors deep emotional wounds and loneliness within. Because the character embodies both darkness and warmth, Lee Joo Bin focused on carefully balancing emotional expression to reflect that duality.

Taking on the role of a teacher for the first time, Lee Joo Bin shared that she practiced writing on the classroom board extensively to ensure authenticity. She paid close attention to coordinating gestures, eye contact, and speech rhythm while delivering lines, and adjusted her tone and movements to naturally convey a teacher’s presence during scenes with students.

When asked to describe Yoon Bom in key words, Lee Joo Bin chose “cat,” “transparency,” and “principled.” She explained that while Yoon Bom is cautious at first, she becomes deeply affectionate once she opens her heart. Although she believes she hides her feelings well, her emotions are clearly reflected in her expressions and actions. Beneath her glamorous appearance, Yoon Bom is conservative and strongly values rules and principles, which aligns with her role as an ethics teacher.

Lee Joo Bin also commented on her chemistry with the cast, noting that the team worked very well together. She added that there were more action scenes than expected, and Ahn Bo Hyun’s experience with action sequences provided significant support, allowing intense scenes to be filmed smoothly.

In closing, Lee Joo Bin described “Spring Fever” as a warm and comforting drama filled with healing moments and gentle humor. She expressed hope that viewers would look forward to the series with the same anticipation and warmth as waiting for the arrival of spring.

“Spring Fever” is scheduled to premiere on January 5 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
