Upcoming thriller film Colony is intensifying anticipation ahead of its release with a new set of character posters, spotlighting its star-studded cast as they confront a terrifying outbreak.

Directed by Yeon Sang Ho, best known for Train to Busan and Peninsula, Colony follows a group of survivors trapped inside a building after it is placed under lockdown due to an unknown virus. As those infected begin mutating into increasingly unpredictable forms, the remaining survivors are forced into a desperate fight for survival.

Adding to the film’s momentum, Colony has already been officially invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, generating strong buzz ahead of its theatrical release.

Survivors Stand Against a Wall of Terror

The newly unveiled posters place each character in front of a towering mass of infected individuals twisted together in a disturbing formation. With the infected appearing ready to attack at any moment, the imagery emphasizes both danger and psychological tension.

At the center of the chaos stands Kwon Se Jung, played by Jun Ji Hyun, who appears calm yet resolute. Her commanding presence suggests she will serve as a key leader guiding survivors through the crisis.

The Man Behind the Outbreak?

In sharp contrast, Koo Kyo Hwan appears as Seo Young Cheol, a mysterious figure shown wearing handcuffs while displaying an unsettling expression.

The poster hints that he may be directly connected to the outbreak, raising questions about his motivations and the beliefs that may have triggered the disaster.

Fighting Until the End

Ji Chang Wook takes on the role of Choi Hyun Seok, appearing bloodied while tightly gripping a metal pole.

His poster reflects a character determined to fight until the very end, signaling intense physical confrontations with the infected.

Searching for Answers Outside the Building

Meanwhile, Shin Hyun Been portrays Gong Seol Hee, who is seen wearing protective gear.

Her character appears to be working from outside the quarantined building, suggesting she may play a crucial role in uncovering the cause of the outbreak and finding a solution.

Different Choices in a Life-or-Death Crisis

Kim Shin Rok appears as Choi Hyun Hee, her shocked expression hinting at a devastating moment unfolding before her eyes.

At the same time, Go Soo portrays Han Kyu Seong, whose calm but intense gaze suggests a character forced to make difficult decisions under extreme circumstances.

Together, the six posters highlight the vastly different ways each survivor responds to fear, desperation, and survival.

With its high-concept premise, intense visuals, and major cast lineup, Colony is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Korean genre films of the year.

The film will hit theaters on May 21.
