SBS romantic comedy Sold Out on You is preparing to deliver a lighter and more playful atmosphere in its upcoming episode, as newly released stills preview a lively village sports festival filled with awkward chemistry, unexpected pairings, and growing romantic tension between the lead characters.

The drama follows perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee, played by Ahn Hyo Seop, and famous home shopping host Dam Ye Jin, portrayed by Chae Won Bin. After becoming overwhelmed by controversy and insomnia following a disastrous broadcast incident, Dam Ye Jin temporarily escapes city life and ends up staying in Deokpung Village alongside Matthew Lee, where the two slowly begin developing feelings for one another.

Recent episodes have focused heavily on the emotional closeness forming between the pair, especially after Dam Ye Jin’s unexpected kiss left Matthew Lee visibly shaken. While the atmosphere between them had previously been relatively calm and comforting, the newly released stills suggest that the upcoming village sports festival will push their relationship into a far more chaotic and embarrassing phase.

The preview images capture the entire Deokpung Village gathering together for the event, creating a warm but energetic atmosphere packed with comedic moments. Veteran actress Go Doo Shim, who plays village elder Song Hak, joins the festivities alongside other residents, including Jo Bok Rae’s Park Gwang Mo, as the villagers compete in various games and cheer each other on with surprising enthusiasm.

One of the episode’s main highlights appears to be a charades game featuring Matthew Lee and Dam Ye Jin as teammates. Unlike Ye Jin, who looks excited and fully immersed in the competition, Matthew Lee appears completely flustered, struggling to maintain composure after the emotional aftermath of the kiss incident. According to the production preview, his distracted state leads to a streak of hilariously incorrect answers, adding another layer of awkward comedy to their developing romance.

The episode also introduces an unexpected pairing involving Kim Bum’s character Seo Eric. Dressed in uniform for the festival, Seo Eric teams up with Song Hak for the game competition, and the production team hinted that the two characters will display surprisingly entertaining chemistry despite their generational difference. Their interactions are already becoming one of the most talked-about aspects of the upcoming episode preview.

Since its premiere, Sold Out on You has steadily attracted attention for combining healing countryside aesthetics with romantic comedy elements and emotionally grounded character dynamics. Rather than relying entirely on exaggerated romance tropes, the series focuses heavily on emotional comfort, slow-burn chemistry, and the contrast between hectic urban life and peaceful rural simplicity.

The sports festival episode appears designed to deepen those emotional connections while simultaneously injecting more humor and unpredictability into the story. Between Matthew Lee’s increasingly obvious feelings, Dam Ye Jin’s growing attachment to village life, and Seo Eric’s expanding role in the narrative, viewers are expecting the upcoming episode to significantly shift the relationship dynamics moving forward.

The next episode of Sold Out on You airs on May 13 at 9 p.m. KST.
