Actors Lee Sang Yeob and Hyuk of VIXX have officially been confirmed for the upcoming horror anthology film Pink Box, drawing attention from both drama and K-pop fans as production begins.
On May 11, Hyuk’s agency COMPANION COMPANY confirmed that the idol-actor will appear in the film as Sung Gyu. Shortly afterward, on May 13, Lee Sang Yeob’s agency Management LEDO also announced that he would be joining the project in the role of Hyun Soo, a famous influencer and film critic.
Pink Box is described as an omnibus-style horror movie centered around five influencers who each possess more than one million followers online. After attending a celebration party together, the influencers become entangled in a string of mysterious disappearances linked to a strange object known as the “Pink Box.”

The project appears to blend psychological horror with modern influencer culture, exploring themes surrounding online fame, obsession, public image, and fear hidden beneath internet celebrity lifestyles.
Hyuk will portray Sung Gyu, a magazine journalist investigating the truth behind the disappearances. The role marks another acting project for the VIXX member, who has gradually expanded his acting career in recent years through dramas, musicals, and independent productions. Given the investigative nature of Sung Gyu’s character, many viewers are expecting Hyuk to take on a darker and more suspense-driven role than audiences may be accustomed to seeing from him.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang Yeob’s role as Hyun Soo is already attracting particular attention due to the character’s unusual background. Hyun Soo is known online as a ruthless “dark film critic” whose brutally honest reviews hold enough influence to affect box office performance. After gaining massive popularity through sharp criticism and controversial commentary, his life begins spiraling into horror once the mysterious Pink Box suddenly appears before him.
Lee Sang Yeob is reportedly the central figure of one of the film’s anthology chapters titled Starman. The episode is expected to focus heavily on psychological tension and paranoia as Hyun Soo confronts terrifying events connected to the box.
The concept itself has already sparked discussion online because it combines horror with influencer culture — a subject increasingly explored in modern Korean thrillers and films. Rather than relying solely on supernatural elements, Pink Box appears poised to examine the darker side of internet fame and the fragile psychology hidden behind online personas.
The film officially began shooting on May 7 and has now entered full production.
For Lee Sang Yeob, the project represents another genre shift following his recent work in romantic comedies and dramas, while for Hyuk, the film offers an opportunity to continue establishing himself as a serious actor beyond his idol career. Because the project uses an omnibus format, viewers are also curious to see how each influencer’s individual horror story will connect to the larger mystery surrounding the Pink Box itself.
As production moves forward, additional casting details and story information are expected to generate even more attention among horror fans and Korean entertainment audiences alike.
