SBS has unveiled the first still of Kim Ji Won in character for its upcoming Friday–Saturday drama Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia (literal title), drawing attention as part of the network’s 2026 drama lineup announced on February 10.

Based on the popular Japanese series Doctor X, Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia is a medical noir that explores the darker side of the healthcare system. The story centers on “Doctor X,” a genius surgeon who proves the true meaning of being a doctor through pure skill while confronting a hospital world deeply entangled in corruption.
The drama is helmed by director Lee Jung Rim, known for VIP, Revenant, and As You Stood By, and written by rising screenwriter Pyeon Seong Geun, raising expectations for a tightly crafted narrative.
Kim Ji Won stars as Gye Soo Jung, a brilliant surgeon dispatched from a physician staffing agency and notoriously nicknamed the “mad dog of the operating room.” Upon arriving at Guseo University Hospital, an institution driven by money, power, and influence, she refuses to submit to the corrupt system. Instead, she chooses to walk a solitary path, relying solely on her unrivaled surgical skills to challenge and dismantle the entrenched corruption within the medical establishment, embodying a rare medical antihero figure.
Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia is scheduled to premiere in October 2026.
