Actor Wi Ha Joon has shared insights into his role in tvN’s upcoming drama “Siren’s Kiss.” The romance thriller follows a man investigating an insurance fraud case involving a series of mysterious deaths, all connected to a woman whose irresistible charm places her at the center of suspicion.

Wi Ha Joon stars as Cha Woo Seok, an insurance inspector working on an insurance fraud investigation team. Dedicated to stopping crimes that profit from human lives, Cha Woo Seok is known as a top ace who throws himself into dangerous cases without hesitation. Once committed, he pursues the truth relentlessly, leading arrest rates for insurance fraud cases for several consecutive years.

The role marks a clear departure from Wi Ha Joon’s previous character in “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.” Reflecting on the transformation, he expressed both excitement and nervous anticipation, noting his desire to show a completely different side of himself through this project.

Explaining his decision to join the drama, Wi Ha Joon said that the intense tension and mystery of the story made him eager to take part. While Cha Woo Seok appears rough, cold, and blunt on the surface, Wi Ha Joon was drawn to the character’s underlying warmth, which he found compelling to portray.

To depict Cha Woo Seok’s emotional shifts after meeting Han Seol Ah, Wi Ha Joon carefully analyzed the entire script, identifying key moments when his character’s feelings begin to change and deepen. He aimed to express these developments through subtle adjustments in his gaze rather than overt gestures.

The drama also features numerous action scenes. Wi Ha Joon shared that practicing martial arts as a hobby gave him confidence, and instead of special preparation, he focused on conveying the emotions embedded within each action sequence.

Highlighting the key point of the drama, he stated that closely following the evolving emotions between Han Seol Ah and Cha Woo Seok would allow viewers to immerse themselves more deeply in the story. “Siren’s Kiss” is set to premiere on March 2 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
