The upcoming drama Sirius no Hansho, starring Nakajima Yuto, has unveiled its official poster and trailer. Based on the novel of the same name by Daimon Takeaki, the series tackles social and mystery themes, centering on Japan’s “retrial system,” which reexamines criminal convictions that have already taken legal effect. The supporting cast includes Nimura Sawa, Kaneko Daichi, Kawashima Ririka, Ogata Naoto, Watanabe Ikkei, Gozu Takeo, and Masuoka Toru.

The story begins with Fujishima Shota (played by Nakajima), a lawyer from Team Zero—an organization dedicated to helping victims of wrongful convictions. One day, he receives a letter from Miyahara (Gozu), the man convicted of a gruesome family massacre that took place 25 years ago in Gujo Hachiman, Gifu Prefecture. Though Fujishima resents him, he has long regarded Miyahara as a father figure. As he reopens the case, Fujishima uncovers puzzling facts that contradict the prosecution’s claims.
Fingerprint analysis becomes a major obstacle for Fujishima and his team, while the chief prosecutor of the Gifu District Prosecutors Office, Kazunari Hieda (Ogata), also begins to intervene, further tightening the pressure. With Miyahara’s execution date approaching, Fujishima, together with Higashiyama Sana (Nimura), the young leader of Team Zero, and his close friend Yasuno Sosuke (Kaneko), embarks on a seemingly impossible mission: filing a retrial request.
Sirius no Hansho will premiere on January 10, 2026, at 10 p.m. on WOWOW.
