Family tensions are set to erupt once again in Our Happy Days, and this time, Uhm Hyun Kyung’s character is finally refusing to stay silent.
The family drama, which explores the lives and conflicts of multiple generations, centers on personal growth, family expectations, and the emotional struggles of people trying to reclaim ownership over their own lives.
In tonight’s episode, Jo Eun Ae, played by Uhm Hyun Kyung, will directly confront her mother Kang Yeon Ja, portrayed by Kim Hye Ok, after enduring repeated pressure to sacrifice her own happiness for her older brother.

The conflict has been building for several episodes.
Previously, Jo Eun Ae broke down in tears after her mother asked her to use money from the sale of her company to financially support her brother Jo Eun Hyung’s appointment as a professor.
For Eun Ae, the request reopened a much deeper emotional wound—her mother’s long-standing pattern of prioritizing her son over her daughter.
Despite feeling deeply hurt, Jo Eun Ae ultimately transferred 200 million won—approximately $136,000—after being persuaded by her father Jo Sung Joon, played by Sunwoo Jae Duk, and pressured by her sister-in-law Cheon Ji Sun, portrayed by Kim Soo Ah.
But the situation quickly became even more complicated.
At the same time, news emerged that Jo Eun Hyung, played by Choi Sung Won, had actually rejected the professorship opportunity altogether.
That revelation set the stage for an even bigger family crisis.
Newly released stills preview the emotional fallout.
Jo Eun Ae’s usually warm and cheerful expression has disappeared completely, replaced by visible resentment as she confronts her mother.
Adding to the emotional weight of the scene, Kang Yeon Ja remains unaware that her daughter has already transferred the money and continues demanding further sacrifice.
Her continued pressure only deepens Jo Eun Ae’s pain.
The upcoming episode will also feature a major turning point for Jo Sung Joon.
After largely remaining quiet throughout the family conflict, he finally reaches his own limit and confronts his wife.
He criticizes Kang Yeon Ja for refusing to accept their son’s decision while continuing to place unfair burdens on their daughter.
He also expresses pride in Jo Eun Ae for finally standing up for herself.
His decision to openly support his daughter adds an entirely new layer to the already fragile family dynamic.
As years of disappointment, resentment, and misunderstanding finally come to the surface, viewers are left wondering whether Jo Eun Ae and her mother can repair their relationship—or whether the damage has become irreversible.
Episode 21 of Our Happy Days airs on April 27 at 8:30 p.m. KST.
