The upcoming Korean adaptation of The Miracles of the Namiya General Store is continuing to build anticipation as new casting discussions emerge.
On April 28, reports stated that Park Hee Soon and Jang Dong Yoon are in talks to join the drama, adding to an already notable list of actors connected to the project.
In response, Jang Dong Yoon’s agency confirmed that he has received an offer and is reviewing the project positively. Park Hee Soon’s agency has not yet issued an official statement regarding the report.

Originally written by acclaimed Japanese author Keigo Higashino, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store remains one of his most widely recognized novels. The story follows three thieves who hide inside an old general store where mysterious letters from the past begin arriving. As they respond to those letters, they gradually uncover deeper secrets connected to both the store and their own lives.
The original novel gained widespread popularity for blending fantasy elements with emotional storytelling, exploring themes such as regret, healing, fate, and human connection. Its structure, which links multiple timelines and personal stories, has made it a challenging but potentially rewarding work to adapt.
This Korean remake has already attracted attention due to its growing ensemble cast. Earlier reports indicated that Kim Hye Yoon, Lee Chae Min, Moon Sang Min, Go Ah Sung, Yum Jung Ah, Park Se Wan, Ryu Seung Ryong, Kang You Seok, and Jung Chaeyeon were also considering roles.
If finalized, the project could bring together a multi-generational cast capable of supporting the story’s interconnected narrative structure.
The production is currently finalizing casting decisions and preparing to move into filming.
