Reservation Numbers Surge Past 4.2 Million
Anticipation for the drama has risen sharply in recent days.
After the release schedule was officially revealed on April 23, reservation numbers reportedly surged past 4.2 million.
According to current reports, the series has already set a new reservation record for xianxia dramas released in 2026.
The drama has also climbed to the top of multiple “most anticipated upcoming dramas” rankings ahead of its debut.
Adding to the momentum, reports claim that a South Korean production studio has already secured overseas distribution rights.
Based on a Novel by Shi Si Lang
Perfect Match (佳偶天成) is adapted from the novel of the same name by author Shi Si Lang, who is also known for works that inspired dramas such as Love and Redemption (琉璃) and A Moment But Forever (念无双).
The story centers on Lu Qianqiao, played by Allen Ren, a war ghost born under a curse known as the “Five Imperfections.”
In order to become a true human, he must undergo a painful series of trials involving the replacement of his skin, flesh, blood, bones, and heart.
A Marriage Built on Misunderstanding
During his journey, Lu Qianqiao crosses paths with cultivator Xin Mei, played by Wang Herun.
The two eventually enter a marriage that becomes central to the story.
However, Xin Mei initially mistakes him for a death row prisoner.
Believing she is cursed to bring misfortune to her husband, she attempts to use the marriage as a way to break her own fate.
As their complicated relationship develops, the pair gradually uncover the deeper truth behind the curse placed on the war ghost clan.
With strong early buzz, record-breaking reservation numbers, and a simultaneous release across two major platforms, Perfect Match (佳偶天成) is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Chinese fantasy dramas of the season.
