The long-awaited Chinese historical drama One Bowl of Spring (一瓯春), starring Xu Kai and Zhou Ye, appears to be approaching its official premiere after releasing its first trailer.
Produced by iQIYI, the series officially wrapped filming in July 2025 and later secured its distribution license in December, signaling that it had entered the final stages before release.

Release Rumors Intensify
Momentum around the drama picked up again after iQIYI unveiled the project’s first trailer during its recent World Conference event on April 20.
Following the trailer reveal, speculation about the release schedule quickly intensified.
Industry observers currently believe the drama could premiere sometime during the second quarter of 2026, meaning between April and June.
Some online reports have even suggested a possible early May release, though no official premiere date has been announced.
Adapted From You Si Jie’s Novel
One Bowl of Spring (一瓯春) is adapted from the novel by You Si Jie, who is also known for writing the source material behind Unchained Love (浮图缘).
Set during the Southern Song Dynasty, the story follows Xie Qingyuan, played by Zhou Ye, an orphaned heroine carrying deep emotional scars.
She reunites as an adult with Shen Run, played by Xu Kai, a man who experienced exile and military service after his family’s downfall.
Together, they investigate wrongful accusations involving their families while exposing corruption within the imperial court.

Trailer Highlights Intense Chemistry
The newly released trailer has already sparked strong audience discussion.
Zhou Ye appears as a heroine driven by revenge, delivering a sharper and more emotionally intense performance than some of her previous roles.
Meanwhile, Xu Kai portrays a mysterious political figure whose cold calculation and hidden motives add tension to the story.
The trailer emphasizes the pair’s strategic power struggles, emotional tension, and evolving relationship—elements that have significantly boosted anticipation ahead of the drama’s official release.
With post-production seemingly complete and promotional activity increasing, One Bowl of Spring (一瓯春) now looks closer than ever to finally reaching audiences.
