MBC’s Perfect Crown has released new stills teasing the first major conflict between IU and Byeon Woo Seok.
The drama is set in an alternate version of modern-day Korea where the country operates under a constitutional monarchy.
It follows Seong Hui Ju, played by IU, a wealthy chaebol heiress who seemingly has everything except royal status, and Grand Prince Ian, portrayed by Byeon Woo Seok, a prince who lacks real power despite being part of the royal family.

From Fake Romance to Real Feelings
After agreeing to a contract marriage arrangement, Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian initially surprised viewers with their strong chemistry.
Their carefully crafted “romantic relationship” was originally meant to protect themselves from political enemies and shift public opinion in their favor.
However, what began as an act gradually evolved into genuine emotional attachment.
As their relationship deepened, viewers watched the pair grow closer while their fake romance slowly became more real.
Their First Major Fight
The newly released stills suggest that the honeymoon phase may be over.
The once warm and affectionate atmosphere between the couple has noticeably disappeared.
Instead, the two are shown sitting across from each other in a tense confrontation, both wearing cold expressions that hint at serious disagreement.
The tension escalates even further in one particularly dramatic image, where IU’s character is seen pointing an arrow toward Grand Prince Ian.
In another still, Byeon Woo Seok appears to urgently stop her from making a dangerous decision.
Despite his efforts, Seong Hui Ju remains visibly determined, creating even more suspense about what caused the conflict.
Rising Curiosity Ahead of Next Episode
The newly released images have sparked major curiosity among viewers, especially after the pair recently showcased such strong romantic chemistry.
Fans are now eager to learn what caused their sudden fallout—and whether the couple can overcome this latest obstacle.
The next episode of Perfect Crown airs on April 24 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
